We are Emma Riba Santuré and Laura Alcala Freudenthal, two dance artists who have been working together since 2017 to share an artistic home: LaSúbita. A figurative home, a room of our own from which to work and promote projects together, with the invaluable support of Anna Feliu Rich (administration and production) and Patty Maestre Pera (distribution and touring production).

Anna Feliu Rich (administration and production)

Anna is an energetic and positive person who always supports our ideas and projects and helps us make them a reality. In 2021, she joined LaSúbita and has since become a key player in the running of the company.

production on tour)

Patty was born prepared, attentive, and alert. She is always ready to lend a hand, supporting us with a smile and warmth to make us feel safe in moments of vulnerability. She joined LaSúbita in 2023, and we continue to grow together.

Emma Riba Santuré
(artistic director)

Emma always picks up and lifts, accompanying projects as they are born and, above all, as they grow. She has an eye for detail and, with her strength, she sculpts things so that they are well finished. She and Laura started this company together and continue to want to evolve together and build this home that cares for them.

Laura Alcala Freudenthal (artistic director)

Laura is intuitive and determined, a restless soul who is difficult to stop and who spreads her passion for everything she does. She is always planning something and her energy makes things happen. She and Emma started this company together and continue to want to evolve together and build this home that cares for them.

has a circular operation

inherent to our understanding of dance (research, exchange with professionals and audiences, creation, and exhibition). In this loop, interaction between creative practice with professional and non-professional communities, as well as community projects, are key. We highlight projects such as: #practicasdeloinvisible, the “LaSúbita&amiguis Saturday training sessions,” community creation in Nilak-Rocafort (2022), and participation in the book “Mutare” by the Carulla Foundation (2023), together with 12 women from Rocafort de Queralt; the project “Ballar el barri | Community Danceoke” (2024), directed by Laura Alcala Freudenthal and produced by LaSúbita in collaboration with the ICUB for the MAC (Mercè Arts de Carrer) festival.

LaSúbita as an artistic house, allows us to

crear, producir y generar contextos para desarrollar nuestra práctica, siempre con la vocación de compartir, aprender y crecer en familia.
